 The Texas Racquetball Association is looking for volunteers and support for the 2010 USAR National Singles Racquetball Championships, May 26-31, 2010 in Houston, TX at the Downtown YMCA. This will be the last year hosting "The Finals" in Houston, TX. After 28 years of hosting the National Singles at the Downtown YMCA the venue will close and the new structure will not have enough courts to host the event. Join us in saying goodbye to Houston as we celebrate with a special farewell banquet and awards ceremony on Saturday night. A new location will be announced soon for 2011.
This is also a great way for sponsored players to list these activities for their sponsorship at a USAR/TXRA sanctioned event. Thank you for considering your time as these events are difficult to host without your support. The TXRA and the USAR are both non-profit tax exempt organization under section 501 (c) (3) of the IRS code. Your donation is tax-deductible.
BREAKFAST SPONSOR
If you would like to help with breakfast there is a need for breakfast each morning. Here are some things to think about for breakfast:
• Beginning Wednesday morning, 8:00am to 10:00am and each day till Monday morning is 6 days.
• Approximately 100 players each morning.
• A dozen donuts is around $8 x 8 dozen = $64 for one day's worth of donuts.
• All 6 days would be a donation of $384 for breakfast.
• Also need someone to deliver and set-up the donuts each morning in the Players Village downtown. Perfect for someone who lives or works in the downtown area. This can be either a donation of service from your company or restaurant or someone you know that owns a restaurant or food business. We can also accept partial donations to help cover the cost of the meal. (For example, $200 towards the breakfast.) You would be recognized as the Breakfast Sponsor for the National Singles if you took care of everything.
NEWSLETTER SPONSOR
The tournament prints a daily newsletter and also other tournament information throughout the event. The costs involve copier rental for one week, delivery and set-up, 11 x 17 paper, letter size paper, and cost per copy. If you have a copier to loan for a week that can print on 11 x 17 paper then only the ink, and paper would be the only expenses. This is black and white print only. Last year the price was $458 based on the costs below:
• $160 copier rental for one week, includes set-up, delivery and pick-up.
• $136 for 11 x 17 paper and letter size paper
• $162 for copies, .03 cents per side.

We are also looking for volunteers to show up at the YMCA on Monday afternoon after 5pm, May 24, 2010 to help set-up and install court decals for all the courts. We also need an extra laptop and a projector to show the court assignments and other tournament information. Please contact Leo if you can help with any of these requests.
