The Texas Racquetball Association is looking for volunteers and support for the 2010 Texas Regional Racquetball Championships, April 23-25, 2010 in Houston, TX at the Downtown YMCA. If you would like to volunteer in any of the areas below please send an e-mail or call so we can confirm your commitment. This is also a great way for sponsored players to list these activities for their sponsorship at a TXRA sanctioned event. Thank you for considering your time as these events are difficult to host without your support. The TXRA is a non-profit tax exempt organization under section 501 (c) (3) of the IRS code. Your donation is tax-deductible.
The TXRA is looking for breakfast, lunch, and dinner sponsors for the players. This can be either a donation of service from your company or restaurant or someone you know that owns a restaurant or food business. The cost to feed is about $5-$8 per person for each meal served. With approximately 150-175 players to feed, this can cost between $700-$1,000 per meal. We can also accept partial donations to help cover the cost of the meal. (For example, $200 towards the Saturday lunch.)

Helping with the tournament desk is fun and can be fast paced. We need someone to help with checking people in for their matches and also using the R2Sports tournament software. The tournament staff desk is usually a two-person job so we need two people per shift for this. The check-in/payment desk will greet and check-in all players as they arrive, give them a shirt, etc.. You will take payments for any fees dues and make sure everyone is paid and checked in before they play their first match.

We are also looking for volunteers to show up at the YMCA on Friday morning, April 24 at 10am to help set-up the event with the tables, and carpet and chairs. We also need someone to help with setting up the internet connection, and need an extra laptop and a projector to show the court assignments.
